Farmer drowns in River Offin

Bontomurusu (Ash), Feb. 24, GNA -Kwabena Apraku, a 30-year old farmer at Aniamoa near Nkawie in the Atwima district of Ashanti was on Saturday found drowned in River Offin at Bontomuruso. The decomposed body of the farmer was found by some people who had gone to the river to swim.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at the Adiembra police station, Chief Inspector Charles Mensah, the Station Officer said the deceased attended a funeral in the town that Saturday. According to the Station Officer, people who saw him said he was very drunk and might have drowned, while trying to cross River Offin to his village instead of using the main route. So far, Chief Inspector Mensah said, the police do not suspect any foul play.

The deceased had since been buried.
