Farmer donates cement to Asaaman community

Asaaman (Ash), Aug. 8, GNA - A cocoa farmer at Esaase-Kokoado in the Amansie East district of Ashanti last Thursday donated 30 bags of cement to Kokofu-Asaaman to be used to rehabilitate the chief's palace.

Making the presentation at a short ceremony at Asaaman, the farmer, Mr Boama Bio, said he was moved by the fact that the palace was almost in a state of disrepair and something needed to be done. He said since culture was the way of life of a people and chieftaincy was the embodiment of culture in Ghana, there was the need to keep a chief's palace always neat and presentable.

In the case of the Asaaman chief's palace, Mr Bio said it was "crying for rehabilitation" that was why he decided to donate the cement for the rehabilitation work to be carried out.

Okogyeabuo Gyimah II, Omanhene of Kokofu-Asaaman who received the donation thanked Mr. Bio for his patriotism and pledged to use the cement for the purpose for which it was intended and appealed to other public-spirited citizens of the area to contribute towards its development.
