Fafraha Chief calls for peaceful election

Fafraha (G/A), Sep. 14, GNA - Nii Kommey Mensah Larsey, the Second, Chief of Fafraha, has called on politicians to ensure that their utterances promote peace and national unity as the campaign for the December 2008 general elections heats up. He said as the nation prepared to enter another era in her democratic development, there was the need for Ghanaians to be united to ensure that peace prevails.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Fafraha near Dodowa in the Dangbe West District of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday, Nii Larsey asked Ghanaians to pray for God's guidance in selecting capable leaders, who have the development of the nation at heart. He asked the electorate to reject any politician who mounted the platform with inflammatory words.

Nii Larsey advised political parties to exhibit a level of tolerance during and after the elections and accept the results in good faith.

He appealed to the government to provide the community with electricity, potable water, school, Police post, hospital and a market to make life bearable for the inhabitants. Nii Larsey also appealed to the government to award scholarships to brilliant but needy Ghanaians to enable them to further their education and serve the country better.
