Ellembelle DCE intensifies public education on coronavirus

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Mr Kwasi Bonzoh has intensified public education on COVID-19 pandemic in the District.

During a phase one of his sensitization programme, the DCE visited the Aiyinasi market, the Ebi community, Asasetre community, the GPRTU branch at Esiama and the Saint Martin's De Porres Hospital at Eikwe.

Mr Bonzoh is expected to tour the rest of the communities and other institutions in the coming days.

At the Aiyinasi market, the DCE placed Veronica buckets, soap and tissues at vantage points of the market to ensure proper hand washing of traders.

Mr Bonzoh also distributed alcoholic-based hand sanitizers to the traders and advised the market women who also touch money to wash their hands with soap under running water.

Later, the DCE visited the Isolation Center at Saint Martin's De Ported Hospital at Eikwe where he lauded the management of the hospital for their preparations so far to contain the pandemic in case of an outbreak in the District.

Mr.Bonzoh promised to forward their appeal to the Central government to provide the center with some Personal Preventive Equipment (PPEs) such as goggles, gloves, temperature guns among others to enhance their work.

Mr Bonzoh advised the people to adhere to the social distancing safety protocol to avoid contracting the virus.

He said the District was on high alert and prepared to deal with the pandemic in case of an outbreak.
