Elevation of Dormaa-Ahenkro would rapid development

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) March 8, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive, has said that the elevation of Dormaa-Ahenkro to an urban status would ensure its rapid development. He, however, stressed that it was the responsibility of the people to supplement the efforts of the government in providing infrastructure to help improve their living conditions.

Mr Duku was speaking at the inauguration of a 20-member executive of the Dormaa-Ahenkro Urban Council at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Monday. He announced that some of the on-going development projects to face-lift the town included the construction of offices for the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme, resurfacing of roads and an electrification project.

Mr Duku appealed to the Council to help revenue collectors in their work so that the assembly could generate more funds for development. Mr Jerry Kwaku Addai, Registrar of the Dormaa-Ahenkro Circuit Court, who swore the executives into office, urged them to discharge their duties with honesty and truthfulness. The 20-member executive is under the chairmanship of Mr. Ampaabeng-Kyeremeh, a farmer.

Other members were Mr. Wilson Kwasi Damoah, Mr. Osei Tweneboah and Mrs. Agnes Owusu Seiwaa, all Assembly Members.
