Ejisu, (Ash), July 8, GNA - Mr Kofi Opoku-Manu, Ashanti Regional

Minister has underlined the need for District Chief Executives to strengthen their ties with traditional rulers in order to push the pace of development. Mr Opoku-Manu said it is simply not possible for any human society to make significant headway in socio-economic development if the leaders "do not sing from the same hymn sheet". The Regional Minister was speaking during courtesy calls on the Omanhene of Ejisu, Nana Afrane Okese III and Daasebre Otuo Serebour II, Omanhene of Juaben, during a familiarisation tour of the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality. Mr Opoku-Manu expressed the need for understanding, mutual respect and co-operation between politicians and chiefs. He said called for peace and stability in the region to woo investors, adding that "no investor would want to establish a business in an environment poisoned by tension, chaos and disunity". Mr Opoku-Manu appealed to the chiefs to support government policies and interventions designed to make life better for the people. Daasebre Otuo Serebour called for equity in the distribution of the national resources. 8 July 10
