Effutu Assembly undertake more development project within two years

Winneba (C/R), Oct 16, GNA - The Effutu Municipal Assembly has paid 465,00.00 Ghana Cedis debt it inherited from the previous administration to contractors, who executed projects for the Assembly.

The projects included construction of classroom blocks with ancillary facilities, teachers’ quarters, office complex and places of inconvenience.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Nii Ephraim made this known at the second meeting of the assembly in Winneba on Friday.

According to the MCE, the Assembly has completed 10 out of the 12 projects and handed them over to the communities.

Nii Ephraim said work on a two-storey building accommodation for the MCE and a three-storey building office complex have reached advanced stages.

The MCE has also acquired a Nissan patrol, double cabin 4x4 pick-up and double cabin Nissan 4x4 pick-up vehicles to facilitate work of the Assembly.

On health, the MCE disclosed that the Central Regional Co-coordinating Council has awarded contract for construction of one CHPS compound in the Municipality.

Nii Ephraim said the Assembly has up to date, collected 252,708.00 Ghana Cedis as against a budgeted Internal Generation Fund of 338,169 for the year.

The Assembly approved its rates and fee fixing resolution for 2012 and passed a resolution for the purchase of motto bicycles for Assembly Members.
