Nkoranza (B/A), Jan. 1, GNA- Mr Kwabena Agyemang-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has urged teachers to redouble their efforts and offer dedicated and selfless services towards the successful implementation of the new educational reforms. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza on Tuesday, Mr Agyemang-Badu emphasized that the important role of teachers in the development of the country "could not be over-emphasized, since education is the bedrock of national development". He commended teachers for their immense contributions towards the growth of education and advised them to continue with their services to help move the country forward.
Mr Agyemang-Badu said since the teachers had undergone the necessary training and education on the syllabus of the new educational reforms programme, there was the need for them to promote team-work to enable students to become abreast with the contents of the programme. He said teachers should live above reproach to earn respect in the communities, adding that, it behoves on parents also to support and encourage the teachers in the course of their duties. The Education Director was full of praise for the staff of the District Education Directorate for being supportive and urged them to continue with the good work.
Mr Agyemang-Badu asked parents to be watchful of their wards movements and steer them away from anti-social activities that could ruin their lives. He advised students to be disciplined and to respect their teachers, as their good behaviour would encourage the teachers to teach and educate them to achieve high academic laurels.
