Techiman (B/A) Jan. 18, GNA - Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, Assembly Member for Hausaline electoral area in Techiman district in Brong Ahafo has appealed to eligible citizens to educate others to register during the next voters' registration exercise. He explained that the registration exercise would enable all eligible voters to exercise their franchise during the presidential and parliamentary elections.

He stressed that the register would not only be used for the elections but would help in the distribution of development projects. It is important that each eligible citizen gets actively involved in all national issues, the Assembly member added and appealed to supporters of political parties to exhibit a high sense of maturity and tolerance during the electioneering campaigns.

Alhaji Mohammed deplored the practice by some members and supporters of political parties to regard their opponents as enemies, saying that did not augur well for the peace of the country.

Alhaji Mohammed noted that Hausaline, had within the past three years been provided with a new three-classroom block under the GETFUND project and the refuse dump in the area removed. He announced that a three-story market project would be constructed at Techiman Zongo under the Build Operate and Transfer programme and would be supervised by Techiman Urban Council.

The Gonja Chief, Mallam G. Awudu, advised the people, particularly the Imams to learn to live in unity and to co-operate with each other for the steady development of the area. Peace and unity are vital ingredients for national development, he said and urged the people not to allow their political differences to hamper the development of the area.
