Eastern Region donates to Muslims in Koforidua

Koforidua, Aug. 31, GNA - Dr Kwasi Akyem Apea-Kubi, the Eastern Regional Minister, on Tuesday donated 250 mats to Muslims within the Alhusuna-Waljamal fraternity in the New Juaben Municipality.

The donation was to congratulate the Muslims for successfully ending their 30 days fasting and prayers ushering in the celebration of Eid Ul-Fitr on Wednesday.

"Use these mats to pray for Ghana, the President and for everyone so that peace and love will reside in the country" he said. Dr Apea-Kubi wished the Muslims a happy Eid Ul-Fitr on behalf of President John Evans Atta Mills and eulogized them for exercising discipline, love and respect for each other thereby creating a peaceful atmosphere in the area.

He called on the Muslims to help the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to achieve the Better Ghana Agenda most, especially in the Eastern Region.

Dr Apea-Kubi also reminded them that the Electronic Voting system would be used during the 2012 general elections and therefore entreated them to make sure they registered their names when the time was due in order to ensure a peaceful election.
