Correspondence from the Western region
The Standing committee, the Paramount Queen mother, Kingmakers in the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area in Ellembelle district of the Western region, have outdoored a 40-year-old businessman as the new Paramount Chief of Atuabo and President of the Traditional Council with the stool name HRM Awulae Blay IX.
The move followed his installation as the new Paramount Chief after the Council led by the Paramount Queen mother Awulae Raale Avo Nyima III and members of the Ndweafo royal family destooled his predecessor, Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, on Friday, June 12, 2024, over alleged gross misconduct and incompetence.
At a colourful ceremony to outdoor the new Paramount Chief and declare the general proclamation of rightful ritual and affirmation of paramountcy at the Atuabo Palace, the Paramount Queen mother of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, Awulae Raale Avo Nyima II, I was categorical that the Ndweafo royal family, the traditional council, and the Atuabo township have cut ties with Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, the beleaguered Paramount Chief and had not been on the throne for more than a year now.
Awulae Raale Avo Nyima III decried the behaviour of the former Paramount Chief as he subjected some members of the family under arrest and detention at the least provocation.
Members of the standing committee, in a bold declaration, told the chiefs and queen mothers in the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area that they no longer held any allegiance to Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III as their Paramount Chief and President of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council.
The standing committee's resolution stemmed from the fact that the reign of Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III had witnessed a major stagnation of development in Ellembelle.
Members of the standing committee noted with concern that Ellembelle was under bondage and slavery under Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, when some Paramount Chiefs had been at the forefront to champion meaningful development of their paramountcies.
HRM Awulae Blay IX, the new Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, reaffirmed his allegiance to the Council and to the people of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area.
He pledged his commitment and instrumentality to team up with the Traditional Council and people in the area to leapfrog the development of the Ellembelle District.
Born to Egya Erzoah Aka Yeleboe Flanton on July 26, 1985, His Royal Majesty hails from the Ndweafo Clan (Sanzule Gate).
Before ascending the throne as the Paramount Chief of Ellembelle, he distinguished himself as a successful entrepreneur.
Awulae Blay IX served as the Group Chief Executive Officer of Great Eagle Empire, a diversified conglomerate with business interests in Electrical and Lighting, Automobiles, Construction, Real Estates, Oil and Gas, and Travel and Tours.
The ceremony was very peaceful.
