E/R Minister commissions projects

Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, the Eastern Regional Minister, has commissioned a new Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound, and a cassava-processing factory for the people of Kwahu Asakraka.

The commissioning of the projects formed part of his day’s working visit to the Kwahu South District.

Mr Antwi-Boasiako at separate functions to commission the completed projects, admonished community members to own the facilities, and endeavour to properly maintain them to last longer.

He urged chiefs and parents of the various communities in the district to take education of their children seriously, since it was the priceless gift for the nation’s future leaders.

Mr Antwi-Boasiako again commissioned a 300-metre footbridge which connects the people of Mpraeso and Atibie, and a three-unit classroom block for the Fomanso D/A primary school which was built at a cost of GH¢ 143,000 at Kwahu Fomanso.

He then inspected an on-going 80-stall market facility at Kwahu Bepong which is about 60 percent completed.

Mr Joseph Omari, District Chief Executive for Kwahu South, disclosed that the projects were influenced by the people’s own decision and needs through the various town hall meetings at the community level.

He expressed the hope that the facilities, especially the cassava processing factory, would be maintained and utilized to improve the livelihood of the community members.
