Dzifa Attivor gives to Ho cured lepers

Mrs Dzifa Attivor, the Minister of Transport on Friday presented foodstuff worth GH¢ 12, 000 to the inmates of the Schoonhoven Cured Lepers Village in Ho.

The items included 40 bags of rice, five bags of gari, five bags of beans, six cartons of tin tomatoes, 10 gallons of cooking oil and six cartons of tin fish.

Mrs Attivor also donated GH¢ 3,000.00 as school fees for two girls from the Village who got admission into tertiary institutions.

The presentation was in fulfilment of her promise to celebrate Christmas and Easter with the inmates every year, which she has done in the past seven years.

She said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government was working for the “ordinary people”, to make life comfortable for all.

Mrs Attivor said the government considered vulnerable groups, such as the aged and cured lepers a major priority, and reiterated government’s commitment to their welfare.

Togbe Kodzo Ferinat, Chief of the Village, expressed gratitude to Mrs Attivor for her show of love for the inmates.

He said they never thought of an early Christmas gift of that measure and wished the Minister and the NDC government well.
