Dumsor crises prayers end in Accra

Arch Apostle Gideon Appahoh from the UK has officiated in a three- hour intercessory prayer dubbed: “Let there be light,” to address the erratic electricity power supply problem that has besieged Ghana for three years.

Arch Apostle Appahoh, Founder and Leader of Christ for the world missions with branches in Ghana, the UK, Holland, Belgium and Spain, organised the programme in conjunction with the Council Of World Bishops and International Council For the Clergy, presided over by Archbishop Dr George Slezer Ofori-Atta.

The event, which took place in Accra from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. was observed by Bishop Isaac Nunoo, International Director of the Council of World Bishops, Mama Francisca Duncan-Williams, of Mama Francisca Network, and Bishop Emmanuel Osei Bonsu, Eastern Regional Diocesan Bishop of the International Council For Clergy.

Arch Apostle Appahoh, asked Ghanaians to desist from calling the electricity crises “dumsor” since every name has power and its character is well is encapsulated in it.

“Hence, the more one calls forth a name, the more its characteristics are made manifest,” he said.

The congregation prayed fervently shouting a congregational declaration “let there be light and there is light”.

Arch Apostle Appahoh said through prayers God would cause the rains to come down at the appropriate places and open up the dykes to fill the Akosombo, Kpong and Bui dams.

“He will also maintain the water levels necessary to generate the required amount of power needed for the nation’s use. He will also give wisdom to our leaders and the technocrats to maintain the generating plants in… good condition.”

Arch Apostle Appaloh said as a people, “We have relied so much on our intellect to the neglect of God. God says, He rules in the affairs of mankind, hence, the need to make Him the substratum in and of all that we do as a people”.

He said great nations have been built with the virtues of hope, faith and love and Ghana must adopt the practice.

"Let there be light and there shall surely be light. Let this declarative words be on the lips of every Ghanaian everywhere and confess them all the time and the erratic electricity power supply crisis shall soon become stable and consistent electricity power supply in the material,” he said.
