Drivers advised not to increase fares arbitrarily

Wenchi, (B/A), April 4, GNA - Alhaji Baba Musa, Secretary of the Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU), of the TUC at Wenchi in the Brong Ahafo Region has urged drivers in the Wenchi District not to use the recent fuel increases by government to increase their lorry fares arbitrarily.

In an interview with Newsmen at Wenchi, Alhaji Baba Musa urged the drivers to charge passengers the approved rates. He said any driver who contravened the directives would be dealt with drastically.

Alhaji Baba Musa urged drives in the District not to drive under the influence of alcohol.

He appealed to them to avoid over-taking, driving above the stipulated speed limit and over loading, He urged them to dress neatly at all times.

Alhaji Baba Musa urged transport owners to maintain their vehicles before putting them on the roads.
