Dormaa Marks Flag Day

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Feb. 19, GNA - More than 500 children drawn from basic schools in Dormaa-Ahenkro last Thursday went on a possession through the principal streets of the town, waving Ghana flags. The three-hour possession ended at the Presbyterian Park where they were addressed by the District Chief Executive, Squadron leader Benjamin Anane Asamoah (RTD).

He urged the children to draw lessons from the efforts of past gallant politicians and academicians who fought tirelessly to gain independence for the nation 50 years ago.

Squadron Leader Asamoah explained the meaning of the colours of the Ghana flag and asked the children to impress upon their parents and guardians to submit to the clarion call for national unity. He called for Ghanaian history to be added to core subjects at all levels of education so that 93useful lessons on Ghana's struggle for political emancipation can be made available to enable all to contribute meaningfully to national development".
