Dormaa-Akwamu outdoors new Kyidomhene

Dormaa-Akwamu (B/A), June 08, GNA - A 62-year-old businessman, Mr Kumi Acheaw, has been outdoored as the Kyidomhene for Dormaa-Akwamu near Wamfie in the Dormaa District.

Mr Kumi Acheaw's stool name is Nana Aning Kumi Acheaw II. The stool has been vacant for 44 years.

The last Kyidomhene, Nana Kofi Aning I, died in 1962 and replacement has been delayed even though his death did not precipitate any chieftaincy disputes in the town.

The chief of Dormaa-Akwamu and Akwamuhene for the Dormaa Traditional Council Nana Oppong Kyeremeh Sikafour II appealed to the new chief to bring his marketing and entrepreneurial acumen to bear on the town's teeming youth so as to bring down indiscipline and unemployment. Nana Aning Kumi Acheaw reminded the youth to embrace hard work, discipline and peaceful co-existence.
