District capital at Nkroful is to honour Dr. Nkrumah--DCE

Axim (W/R), Jan. 23, GNA - The District Chief Executive for Nzema East, Mr. Joshua Kwadja Elima, has said the creation of the Ellembelle District and citing its capital at Nkroful was part of President John Agyekum Kufuor's pledge to honour Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first president.

Mr. Elima said this at meeting with the elders of Nkroful to discus how best structures could be acquired for the quick take off of the district.

Among those who represented the town were the Abusuakpanyinli, (clan head) Nana Nyame Blay, who is acting as the chief of the town, Assembly Member for Nkroful Ebanso electoral Area, Mr. John Nkum and Mr. J. R. D. Cobbina, a former DCE for Nzema East, who is an elder of the town.

Mr Elima said the new district would be inaugurated by March and appealed to the people to give out buildings to serve as both residential and office accommodation.

He appealed to the people to ensure that peace and tranquillity prevailed in Nkroful for the smooth take off of the district assembly.

Nana Blay thanked the President Kufuor for creating the district and citing the district capital at Nkroful, the birthplace of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and said the people would contribute towards the success of the district.
