Denkyembour to get a Community Senior High School

The Denkyembour district is to benefit from the next batch of community based Senior High Schools with the citing of one at Takowrase.

According to Kwaku Ofori-Abrokwah, the District Chief Executive (DCE), the school will go a long way to ease the problems the district’s teaming Junior High School graduates face in gaining access to secondary education.

Speaking at a forum, as part of activities to mark the 58th independence anniversary in the district, the DCE urged the youth of the district to devote more time to their books and strive hard to achieve excellence in whatever they do.

He advised students to note that, no matter how many academic laurels and professional achievements they acquire, the best education and training is the one which allows the individual to master his or her environment and stand up for what is right and have fellow feeling for individuals, especially the vulnerable in the society.

The DCE said, contracts had been awarded for the construction of a three unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the AME Zion school at Akwatia, construction of six unit classroom block and ancillary facility at the number four Roman Catholic Primary School and the construction of six unit classroom block at Apamtatia, all aimed at improving the environment for teaching and learning in the district.
