The demonstrators, with red wrist bands and red tops, sang patriotic tunes and flaunted placards some of which read 93Atta Control Your Men," "Change the District's Capital or no vote" and 93Ghana is not for Kw= abena Adjei." A press statement signed by representatives of Apesokubi, Worawora, Tapa and Bowiri Traditional areas said the district was inaugurated by Mr Joseph Amenowode, the Volta Regional Minister, without their notice. It said that action suggested therefore that they the four traditional areas, including Nkonya-Wuropong, did not matter and not part of the 93Nko= nya District".

The statement called on the President to cause the proper thing to be done or their people would boycott the forthcoming district level election. It also expressed regret at the refusal of the government to address concerns on issues of the Biakoye District sent to it over the past months.
