Dagbamate chiefs offer land for UHAS Southern-Campus

A 10-acre plot of land has been offered free of charge to Government by the Chiefs and people of Dagbamate in the Akatsi South District for the establishment of a proposed Southern Volta Campus of the University of Health and Allied Science (UHAS).

The offer follows an appeal by a deputy Education Minister to land owners in Southern Volta at a recent Congress of Anlo Chiefs at Anloga to release land for the project.

Togbi Klu Agudzeamegah II, Dufia of Dagbamate, announcing the offer at a press briefing at Dagbamate, said the free and speedy donation is to ensure that the proposal becomes a reality in the interest of Southern Volta.

“We wish to assure Government that the said land is free from any form of litigation now or in the future, as all titles deeds and terms would be clearly put in place”, he said.

Flanked by other chiefs, elders and the people, Togbi Agudzeamegah said the community and its surrounding villages saw the proposal as a laudable one hence the offer, and would also go any length to support it.

He said the proposed Faculty of Pharmacy campus in the area, will not only bring education closer to the youth of Southern Volta, but development and other social links as well and must therefore be embraced by all.

“We believe the offer will enhance a fast establishment of the campus”, Togbi Agudzeamegah said.
