Dagaaba Naa on government to develop tourism potentials in Upper West

Kumasi, Oct. 22, GNA 96 Naa Suautah Franklin, Dagaaba Naa of Ashanti Region has appealed to the government to take steps to develop some of the numerous tourism sites in the Upper West region. He said the development of tourism sites in the region would not only increase government revenue but would also create employment for the youth and open up the area to the rest of the world. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi at the weekend, Naa Sauatah, mentioned the Hippo-sanctuary at Weachua, the Slave wall at Gwolo, near Tumu, Xylophone industry at Lawra, among others, as some of the sites which needed much attention. He expressed concern about the migration of the youth in the region to the south for non-existing jobs and said the development of tourism sites and other income generating initiatives would help curb the situation.

Naa Sauatah appealed to the people from the Upper West region residing in the Ashanti region to be law abiding and respectful to the customs and traditions of their host people.
