Court orders accused to produce computer

Awutu, (C/R), April 17, GNA- A magistrate's court at Awutu in the Central Region, on Thursday remanded Felix Paddie, 20, and asked him to produce a lab top computer he had stolen. The accused who would re-appear at court on Monday, April 21, 2008, would be accompanied by the police to Kwame Nkrumah Circle, where he told the court the equipment was being kept.

Paddie pleaded guilty for stealing the computer valued at 1,400 Ghana Cedis belonging to Master Francis Rhule, former student of the Koforidua Senior High School. Police Inspector Emmanuel Ofori, told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Ahiabor, that the accused was a friend to the complainant. Prosecution said two months ago, the accused borrowed the computer from Rhule so that he (accused) could use the internet to contact his father residing outside Ghana.

Inspector Ofori told the court that Paddie bolted with the computer and sold it at 100 Ghana Cedis.
