Coronavirus: Muslim Clerics seek Allah's intervention

The Northern Regional Chief Imam, Sheik Alhaji Ahmed Abdul Salam, and other imams in the region, have sought for Allah's intervention against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

At an event which took place today in the Tamale Central Mosque, the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed, the NPP Northern Regional Chairman, Mohammed Adam Bantama, known as chairman Samba, and few other respected and notable imams and clerics of the region were present.

The objective of the gathering was to seek Allah's intervention through the recitation of the Holy Quran, on behalf of the nation against the deadly Coronavirus.

According to the Northern Regional Minister, the president is bent on ensuring that the general public adheres to the precautionary measures being put in place to curb the spread of the Coronavirus disease in the country.

On his part, the Regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Samba, also appealed to all political parties and the general public to join hands in prayers for Allah to avert this catastrophe that has befallen the world.

The Yaa Naa, Naa Abukari Mahama (II), who spoke through a messenger, similarly pleaded with Allah to accept the prayer of the imams and the ulama who have gathered to cry out to Allah to avert the Coronavirus plague from the country.

He further urged the general public, especially Muslims to always wash their hands with soap before performing ablution.

One of the clerics, Sheikh Amin Bamba, explained that the world is currently going through a trial and that, it is only Allah who can save the world.

‘We are under attack, we have been beseeched by an enemy that is invincible and we have no way of dealing with the enemy except by seeking the face of Allah,' said sheik Amin Bamba.

Sheikh Amin Bamba also asked Allah to accept the prayers, forgive our sins, guide the government, help the doctors, and the paramedics who are making efforts to bring healing and cure to those who are infected.

He further asked Allah to console those who are infected.

The event was well observed under the social distancing advice and every individual was seen wearing a nose mask.
