Delta Agro Limited, leading local manufacturers of antiseptic liquids and soaps has rallied massive support by way of donation to Manhyia Palace, Kumasi.

The Golden Stool is a sacred symbol of the Ashanti nation believed to possess the sunsum (soul) of the Ashanti people.

The Asantehene is highly revered in the Asante territories (Ashanti Region and other parts of Ghana), and is often regarded as the first among equals of traditional rulers in Ghana.

Delta Agro presented items worth several thousands of Cedis to the Palace.

The presentation ceremony forms part of the company’s nationwide campaign to fight the coronavirus menace.

The pandemic is engulfing the world, with increasing numbers putting themselves in self-isolation as a response to the deadly disease, hence the gesture.

The items included 200 cartons of anti-bacteria soap and antiseptic liquid making a total of 9600 pieces.

Chief of Staff, Manhyia, Mr Kofi Badu who received the items on behalf of Manhyia expressed gross thanks to Delta Agro for the support.

He stated that the gesture was timely, taking into account how fast the deadly disease is spreading.

Later, Dr Thomas Agyarko received part of the items on behalf of Lady Julia, wife of Asantehene for the Otumfuo Charity Foundation.

It was Otumfuo's Saanaahene, who received the items on behalf of the Asanteheema.

The Ashanti region Head operations of Delta Agro Limited, Mr. Ali Mahdi said after the presentation “We believe our products will go a long way to support this crucial campaign at these trying times . We consider the gesture as our Corporate Social Responsibility towards our homeland Ghana.

"We pray and hope that our donation will contribute towards the hygiene and disinfecting of the atmosphere in the good course.”

Messrs Fagus Yaw Berko and Raphael Kyei also joined the presentation ceremony.
