Community launches development plan

Amasaman, (GA), June 29, GNA - Chiefs have been urged to use Homowo festivities to educate their citizens on development projects and to encourage them to desist from litigations which jeopardise development. Nii Akwei II, Chief of Akweiman made the call when he launched a three-year development plan estimated at 300 million cedis to facelift the town

The projects include the construction of a clinic, a day care centre and plastering of a six- classroom block of the primary school. Mr Daniel Allotey, Assemblyman of the area, said the projects would be undertaken through communal labour and contributions of 50,000 cedis a man and 30,000 cedis a woman respectively. Non-resident citizens would pay 100,000 cedis.

Nii Asafoatse Adotey an elder of the town called on the Ga West District Assembly, non governmental organisations to come to their aid to complete the project as schedule.

He called on the non-resident citizens to visit home during the forthcoming Homowo Festival to contribute towards the development of the area, and commended the Ga West District Assembly for the re-gravelling of a three-kilometre feeder road, which links the Adeiso and Bodwease road.
