Community constructs classroom

Atabourso (B/A), Jan. 24, GNA - The Chiefs and people of Atabourso, a farming community in Techiman municipality, have completed work on a block of two classrooms for the Local Authority Primary School through communal labour.

The construction of the additional two classrooms is to ease the increased enrolment of pupils due to the capitation grant. Mr. Stephen Takyi, Assembly Member, told the GNA that the school served communities including Atabourso Number One and Two, Bobokrom, Kwabena Bebekrom, Attakrom, Dogokrom.

He commended Mr. Addai Simon, MP for Techiman South, for providing 35 bags of cement, three bundles of roofing sheets and four packets of roofing nails to support the project.

Mr. Takyi thanked the chief of Atabourso, Nana Joseph Ackesson, who supported the project with sand and boards. He appealed to the Techiman Municipal Assembly to assist the school with toilets and more classrooms.

Nana Ackesson cautioned farmers against setting bushfires and advised them to prepare their food at home before leaving to their farms and to refrain from carrying naked fires.
