Community calls on assembly to reshape road

Apawawase (E/R), Jan 8, GNA - The Apawawase community near Asuboi in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District, on Friday called on the District Assembl= y to reshape the dangerous portions of the feeder road in the area, to help avert rampant accidents. Making the call through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Apawawase, Nana Antwari Amponsah, the Odikro of the community, said the stretch of the Awisem 96 Apawawase 96 Asuboi feeder road was the most dangerous portion and a "death-trap".

The Odikro remarked that traveling on the road, especially at night, was horrifying, due to the undulating rocky nature.

According to him, the Asuboi Zongo 96 Otumfo and the Otumfo 96 Wontu= mi stretches of the narrow lane, posed a danger to lives, because vehicles often veered off onto the oncoming lane. He explained that during the rainy season, the road became slippery while during the dry season, it became very dusty, a situation which compelled drivers to stop plying the route. Nana Antwari observed that if nothing was done to arrest the situation= , the Apawawase 96 Asuboi area would be completely cut off from the rest of the District.
