Committee to investigate death of NODASS student

A nine member committee has been set up to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of Ms Louisa Amoah, a third year student of the Notre Dame Senior High School. The committee is chaired by retired educationist, Mr. Ackah Ayensu Students of the school on Friday embarked on a demonstration to protest the untimely death of their colleague after two weeks of illness at the school.

The students are alleging that Ms. Amoah died because authorities of the school refused to grant her permission to attend hospital because she did not possess a National Health Insurance card.

They claimed that for the two weeks when Ms. Amoah was ill, she could not eat and at a point her friends had to assist the student to take her bath, and the school authorities compelled her to undergo treatment at the school’s sick bay.

The committee is also to investigate the high handedness of the school’s authorities and submit its report by October 31.
