ComAid Foundation donates to orphanage

ComAid Foundation Ghana, a non-governmental organization, has presented assorted items to the Operation Mango Tree Children’s Home in Bolgatanga. The food items with confectioneries, which cost GH?2,341, comprised 10 bags of 25kg rice, two boxes of cooking oil, boxes of detergents, boxes of bathing soap, a box of mackerel, and some boxes of tin tomatoes among others.

The organization also presented a cheese of GH?3,000 to cater for the wellbeing of the more than 40 inmates at the home.

The donation, which formed part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility, was financed by ComAid Micro-Finance, an institution operating in Bolgatanga with branches at Bawku and Wa.

Mr Aminu Akparibo, Project Coordinator of ComAid Foundation, who presented the items, said the initiative was the foundation’s way of advancing its social advocacy agenda within the Region and its operational areas.

Mr Akparibo expressed delight at the support garnered for the project, explaining that, children at many orphanages were challenged and his outfit wished to remedy some of the challenges through the donation.

ComAid Foundation Ghana, he said, was a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established to assist rural communities to achieve good health care, overcome rural hunger and poverty, and accelerate development for quality health delivery, rural water supply, and women’s right and empowerment towards poverty alleviation.

He expressed optimism that the organization, in its second year of operation, would grow to help solve some of the problems in the society.

Mr Gabriel Abem, Head of Finance Administration at ComAid Microfinance, said to commensurate its core business of providing financial solutions in the areas of investments, a savings, susu and an educational fund, had been instituted to provide reliable and sustained financial support in education, especially for the orphanage.

He said his outfit would pay the fees of five children this academic year and replicate it in subsequent years.

Madam Laadi Ayine, Caretaker of the Home, expressed appreciation to ComAid for the gesture and said the educational package would be beneficial to the inmates and better their lives.

She called on other benevolent organizations to emulate the gesture.
