College in UK donates to Buoyem

Students of Ukfield Technology College of United Kingdom have donated stationery valued at ?3.5 million to the people of Buoyem in Techiman District of Brong Ahafo Region.

The items included reading and exercise books, pens and pencils, two sets of jersey and a football.

In addition, the college presented ?2.5 million towards the construction of a tourist guesthouse in the town.

Presenting the items Mrs Margaret Clerk, leader of the students, said the gesture was part of an initiative by the college to adopt the area and promote its tourism potential to attract investors.

Nana Okomafo Dwamena Akenten, Chief of Buoyem, who received the items, thanked the students for the donation.

The Assembly Member for the area, Mr Evason Addo Donkor appealed to the college to collaborate with the Techiman District Assembly and the Department of Feeder roads to help re-gravel the Buoyem-Akonkonti road.
