Churches to deliberate on Oguaa's development

Cape Coast, Aug. 12, GNA - A five-day international conference geared towards the "revival" of Cape Coast for accelerated socio-economic development opened on Monday. The event, dubbed the ''Renewal Conference,'' is aimed at accelerating the growth of the Central Regional capital. It is being organised by the local branches of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) and the Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) and some foreign participants from the United Kingdom and the United States.

Mr Ebo Sackey, a Deacon of CCC, said the theme: "Renewal," was chosen because Cape Coast, an ancient city, has a history of being the first in education, government, tourism and religion, yet it was lacking development.

"The conference seeks to address the problem of underdevelopment of the town because, even though, the city was first in everything it has become the last in recent times and we need to seek renewal of things", he said.
