Chiefs of Ave-Havi unite for development

Torgbui Agboka Sowu IV, Chief of Ave-Havi, has asked the youth of his area to support their traditional leaders for development.

Torgbui Agboka Sowu said the days for rivalry and litigation were over "who is who" among the chiefs are gone and that they have resolved to unite and live in peace for the area to develop.

"Torgbui Gamor and I (Torgbui Agboka Sowu) have reconciled and we are determined to work for the area to develop. I now call Torgbui Gamor on phone and he also calls me to greet me and discuss matters concerning the town with me.

“I go to his palace and he also comes to mine. We now sit together to arbitrate over issues that come up. We are sorry for all what happened," he said.

Speaking at a meeting with the youth of Ave-Havi, the chief implored the youth to be law-abiding, work hard and dedicate themselves to the development of the town, adding, "Without you the youth, there is no Havi. We appreciate your good work as in the area".

Mr. Richard Yao Tsisah, President of the Youth Association, thanked the chiefs and urged them to maintain the good spirit and fellowship in the interest of the area.

"With this development, we the youth can now feel free to partner with you to move the area forward,” he said.

Ave-Havi, a farming community in Akatsi North District, until recently was grappling with chieftaincy disputes.
