Chiefs And People Of Nandom Show Gratitude To Government For New District

The Chiefs and Youth of Nandom Traditional Area wish to express their most profound gratitude and appreciation to government particularly His Excellency the President, John Evans Atta Mills, for the vision to carve out a separate administrative district from the present Lawra District for the people of Nandom area. Indeed, this is great welcome news for the entire citizenry of Nandom, and significant fulfillment of a long awaited-dream.

It is the conviction of the Chiefs and Youth of the Nandom that the creation of Nandom as a district will not only accelerate the pace of socio-cultural growth and development of the area, but more importantly it opens a new window for the establishment and nurturing of a dynamic local political economy to the benefit of the District in particular and the country as a whole.
We call on all well-meaning Ghanaians, especially citizens of Nandom resident in Ghana and abroad to come home and invest in the numerous human and natural resources of the area as well as take advantage of other business avenues that accompany the creation of the District.
The Chiefs and Youth also wish to call on all stakeholders, both within and outside the area, to eschew any untoward acts that can impede the smooth and orderly processes towards the successful take-off of the new district.
We entreat all and sundry in the area to note that the announcement of a new district for the area alone does not necessary translate in to the desired well-being of our society but must be supported by strengthening of the internal spirit of cohesion of the Nandom people, and above all a high sense of patriotism to ensure judicious use of available resources to facilitate efforts towards enhancing the quality of life of the people.
