Chief commended for showing interest in STME clinic

Ejisu (Ash), Sept 12, GNA- Mrs Sophia Awotwe, National co-ordinator of Science, Technology and Mathematics Education (STME) clinic, has commended the Ejisuhene, Nana Aboagye Agyei for his support and interest in the STME clinic in the district.

She said it was a delight that some traditional rulers are taking greater interest in science clinics in their communities as a way of encouraging young people, especially girls, to pursue science related courses to the highest level.

Mrs Awotwe said this when she accompanied Mr Festus Boadi-Suadwa, Ejisu-Juaben District Director of Education and 50 junior and senior secondary school students who are participating in this year's STME clinic, to pay a courtesy call on Nana Aboagye Agyei.

She said the introduction of the STME clinics has inspired more girls to pursue science related courses in the universities in recent years and urged parents to encourage their wards to undertake science subjects.

Nana Aboagye Agyei advised the pupils and students to take interest in science and technology.
