Chief calls for division of Kwaebibirem District

Dwenase(ER), July 17, GNA - Osabarima Amue Koku Ntriakwa, Chief of Akyem Dwenase, near Akwatia, on Friday advocated for the splitting up of the Kwaebibirem District into two. He observed that the District with its large population, land size and numerous towns and villages and resources should not remain as a single entity.

The Dwenasehene said the Akwatia and Kade constituencies that formed the district would experience faster development if they were made separate districts.

Osabarima Ntriakwa was welcoming the Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive, Mr Reginald Aboagye Osae, to the town, as part of his familiarization tour of the district. The DCE thanked the chiefs and people, who turned up in their numbers to welcome him.

He said a public place of convenience under construction would soon be completed.

Mr Osae said there was the need for communities to take sanitation seriously and hoped the public place of convenience would help improve sanitation in the township.

He also promised that a new football field would be built, for the promotion of sports in the town, especially among school pupils. Mr Osae praised the people for their self-help spirit and assured them that hey would have 10 bags of cement and roofing sheets for their school structures.

He hoped that they would sustain the self-help spirit to ensure further improvement of their community with the help of the district assembly.
