Chief calls for a creation of Tuobodom District

Tuobodom (B/A), Jan. 13, GNA - Nana Barima Obeng Ameyaw II, Chief of Tuobodom in Techiman Municipality, has called on the government to create a new district for the area. He said Tuobodom was currently densely populated with a lot of ethnic groups and villages springing up.

Nana Ameyaw made the call at a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a three-unit classroom block with office, store, urinal and toilets for the Junior High and Primary schools at Tuobodom. The project is estimated at GHC 56,220.78 and is funded by the District Development Fund.

Nana Ameyaw also requested for the construction of a community library and the rehabilitation of the four-kilometre Tuobodom-Nkwanmenso road. He commended Mr. Alex Kyeremeh, Municipal Chief Executive, for ensuring the equitable distribution of development projects among the communities. Mr. Kyeremeh commended the people for offering communal labour on projects and urged them to keep it up. He said the provision of the school block would be useless if parents shirked their responsibility fail to enrol their children in school.
