The Chief Justice who was addressing the overlord of the Waala traditional area Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV lauded the call for collaboration and said it is the reason why Alternative Disputes Resolution has be established long ago.

The Chief Justice Her ladyship Sophia Akufo as part of efforts to strengthen the Legal Justice system has embarked on a 3 day tour of all courts in the Upper West Region. The Chief Justice arrived on Wednesday morning May 9, 2018.

She visited the Wa circuit court where she inspected the state of the facility before moving to also inspect an ongoing courts building which has been abandoned for years.

The Chief Justice together with her entourage also inspected the Wa High court where she was briefed on some challenges that needed to be corrected. The Chief Justice later paid a courtesy call on the overlord of the Waala traditional area Wa Naa Fuseni Seidu Pelpuo IV.

Speaking behalf of the Chief, Naa Seidu Bomson called for a collaboration between the Judiciary and the traditional Authorities.

The Chief Justice lauded the call and explained that it is the reason why the Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR) has been established to help in dealing with court issues.

She said she has strengthened the ADR even more by encouraging the judges to spend more time on managing cases in a way that gives opportunity for amicable settlement.

The Chief Justice also inspected some bungalows belonging to the Judiciary Service of Ghana. She finally closed the day at the Wa campus of the university for Development Studies where the Judiciary Service of Ghana is holding its 6th Triennial Delegates Conference.
