Central Region gets computers to boost data on AIDS

Cape Coast, Dec 1, GNA - The Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) has presented 15 computers and accessories to the Central Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to help in HIV and AIDS data management as well as facilitate timely reporting to the Commission.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer GAC, Mr. Kenneth Yeboah who presented them, said there was the need to put in place stronger monitoring and evaluation systems to help measure the success or otherwise of the national response for the next five years. He said all the computers use the Country Response Information System (CRIS), software designed by UNAIDS, to help countries in collecting and managing national response data.

Mr. Yeboah said the CRIS was designed to address key challenges in data management systems which were identified at the decentralized level. Receiving the items on behalf of the region the Central Regionl Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, expressed gratitude to the Commission.
