Catholics observe Corpus Christi feast day

Miremano (B/A), July 20, GNA - Muslims at the weekend joined Catholics at the grand celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi and Patrons at Miremano in Jaman South District of Brong Ahafo. Twenty-four Catholic churches attended the three-day celebration that started last Friday.

In a sermon the Rev Fr E. S. Amankonah, Sunyani Diocese Chaplain, urged family members to unite and conduct themselves well as true believers of Christ for peace, justice and tranquillity to prevail in households.

He advised heads of families to live up to expectation and honour their parental, social and religious obligations and lead exemplary lifestyles.

Rev Fr George Donkor Tan, Chaplain of St. Theresa's Hospital at Nkoranza, speaking on "Healing the division", urged members of the church to utilize their talents to develop themselves to appreciable levels.

The Imam of Miremano, Yussif Ouattara, urged Christians and Muslims to serve God in truth and to obey His commandments. A representative of the Chief of the town, Nana Yussif Ali Konadu, appealed to the Catholic Church to set up a clinic in the community.
