Caterers asked to prepare wholesome meals

Anweaso (E/R), June 7, GNA - The National Organiser of the Ghana Traditional Caterers Association (GTCA), Hajia Suhuratu Yakubu has advised members of the Association to ensure that they offer only wholesome food prepared in healthy environment to consumers. Inaugurating a branch of the Association at Anweaso, near Akwatia on Monday, she reminded them that they had a sacred duty to prepare food that would ensure sound health for their clientele.

Hajia Yakubu said traditional caterers should not be concerned with only their profits at the expense of providing quality meals, saying they would receive God's blessings if they fed the people with clean nourishing food.

Mr Paul Degbe, Eastern Regional Secretary of the Association, noted that traditional caterers fed about 80 per cent of Ghanaians so they should constantly ensure that they prepare only the best meals with the best foodstuff.

Mr Kojo Dekpoh, Kwaebibirem District Co-ordinating Director, told the members that balanced and health providing foods sustained life and helped to increase productivity since a sick people would not only be unproductive but also become a burden on the family and the nation. He urged them to ensure that their premises and utensils were always kept clean.

The regent of Anweaso, Bafour Manu Aboagye, called for unity and quality delivery among members of the branch to attract visitors for development.

A nine-member branch executive of the Association was sworn into office with Bafour Appiah Kubi as chairman and Mr Albert Doe as Secretary.
