Car runs over onion sellers in Kumasi killing two women

Two onions sellers died instantly on Tuesday at the Anloga Onions market in Kumasi after they were run over by Toyota Camry with registration number GC 394-13

The deceased only known as Barkisu and Tawiah, are onion sellers near the market where the vehicle is said to have crashed whilst moving at top speed.

According to eyewitnesses, the women were busy with their usual activities when the car ran over five of them killing two with the other three currently receiving treatment at various health facilities including Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

"We heard the women crying and shouting to our surprise, it was a serious accident," said an eyewitness.

One of the bodies has since been buried at the Old Tafo cemetery in Kumasi.

The vehicle has been towed to Oforikrom police station while investigation continues.
