CJA: We won't demonstrate to please NPP

Pressure group, Committee for Joint Action has said it will no longer demonstrate to press home its demands because it believes the main opposition New Patriotic Party wants to take advantage of their demonstrations to hit at the government.

According to the convener of the group, Kwasi Adu they will not allow themselves to be manipulated by the NPP to achieve its political objectives.

The CJA which was deemed vibrant on national issues during the administration of former President John Kufuor has been criticised by the NPP for being relatively dormant under the Mahama-led administration.

But speaking to Citi FM, Thursday, Adu said the group has ruled-out demonstrations as a strategy in the meantime.

“We do not want to please them. This was a political party (NPP) that brutalised us during their time just for going on demonstrations.

“We do not want to please them anymore. We will not do it! We will not allow them to force us to demonstrate just to embarrass the government,” he stated.
