C/R GPRTU members call for peace among members

Cape Coast, July 14, GNA- Members of the Central Region branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) on Saturday expressed concern about attempts by certain members to create confusion in the Union.

They said some members, in their bid to get elected during the elections scheduled for July 31, have been making false allegations of impropriety against the present executive, chaired by Mr. Robert Eshun. This was contained in a resolution adopted at the Union's emergency meeting at Cape Coast on Saturday. The members pledged their unflinching support for the incumbent.

The resolution, signed by majority of the branches, said there was no truth in the allegations, and "unreservedly condemned the diabolical act of some disgruntled members to create confusion among the rank and file of the union".

Mr. Eshun advised all those seeking to be elected, to be circumspect in their campaign and not to undermine the present executive.
