The Brong Ahafo regional minister Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh has stated emphatically that he is not going to tolerate the conduct of the group called concerned members of Banda Ahenkro.

An unknown group calling itself the concerned members of Banda Ahenkro issued a threatening note to people they refer to as 'strange' to leave the community as they have taken over all the jobs in the town following which some workers in the community have deserted their work for fear of any attack from the group.

Speaking to Akwasi Boateng the host of HOT FM's morning show Maakye, Mr. Asomah-Cheremeh said he will not sit and watch for such things to happen under his administration.

"They dare not attempt anything in Banda because I will not sit down for such things to happen under my watch as a regional minister and if those people want to be brutish, I will face them squarely whoever is behind it, whether it is an individual, a group or a political party it won't be tolerated." He stressed.

He therefore urged workers and residents of Banda Ahenkro not to panic and has assured them of maximum security from the police and military.

However the Omanhene of Banda Ahenkro Osabarima Okokyeredom Kwadwo Sito has also condemned what is currently happening at Banda and has urged all residents and all those who fled the community due to fear not to panic and come back to continue with their work.
