Deputy Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Laud Affrifah, has revealed that the Brong Ahafo Region tops the list when it comes to migrant smuggling issues in the country.

This comes as scores of Ghanaians return from Libya following a CNN report revealing modern day slavery in that country.

Speaking to Class News' Joshua Kodjo Mensah, after a training workshop for Security Agencies in the country organised by the United Nations (UN) Office on Drugs and Crime on Friday, December 8, Mr Affrifah said the training on migrant smuggling is timely as the issue has become a matter of great concern.

He adds that the GIS has set up a Migration Information Centre among other measures in the Brong Ahafo Region to educate the people on the dangers associated with migrant smuggling.
