Brong-Ahafo Police Commander assures of effective policing

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Maxwell Atingane, Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Commander, has pledged that the Police Administration would continue to maintain effective security and protection.

DCOP Atingane reiterated that the Police had adopted many strategies; including intensification of mobile and foot patrols nationwide, to combat crime.

This, he said, would enable Ghanaians of diverse backgrounds to undertake their legitimate pursuits without undue fear, and any sense of insecurity.

DCOP Atingane gave the assurance at the inauguration of a Police Station and Barracks at Nkwabeng in the Nkoranza South Municipality of Brong-Ahafo.

The project, estimated at Ghc50, 000.00, was initiated by the community, whilst Mr. Kwame Ampofo Twumasi, former Member of Parliament for Nkoranza South, during whose tenure the project was started, supported them with building materials.

He expressed appreciation for the hard work and efforts of the residents for self-financing the project to support Government and the Police Administration in providing security for the community.

DCOP Atingane advised the people to co-operate with the Police, by volunteering information on suspected criminals for their apprehension, to maintain peace and security within the Municipality.

DCOP Atingane commended the Nkoranza Traditional Council and the Municipal Assembly for providing land for the project.

He advised Police Officers posted to the community to exhibit a high sense of professionalism in their operations.

He also charged them to take good care of the facilities.

Madam Stella Amoatemaa, Nkoranza Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), applauded the people of Nkwabeng for their self-help spirit and urged other communities to emulate them.

She reiterated that government alone cannot shoulder all the responsibilities in developing the various communities.

She gave the assurance that the Municipal Assembly would provide the necessary assistance to the Police Officers for the effective discharge of their duties.

Mr. Paul Opoku-Nsowah, Assemblyman for the Nkwabeng-Achiase Electoral Area, commended residents for their financial contributions towards the construction of the project.

Nana Kyere Kuffour the Second, Chief of Nkwabeng, who chaired the function, congratulated the Police Administration for opening the station in the town.
