Bongo District Assembly inaugurates health compound

Bongo (U/E), Sept. 3, GNA - The Bongo District Assembly has inaugurated a Community Health Planning Services Compound (CHPS Compound) valued at 44,203.00 Ghana Cedis at Lungu.

The facility is to help address the health needs of the people of Lungu which is far away from Bongo, the District capital and often cut off during the rainy season.

The District Chief Executive, Mr. Clement Akugre, said the government was committed to bringing quality health care to the doorsteps of the people in the community.

He said since assuming office in 2008, the Assembly had put up a lot of health infrastructures including semi-detached nursing quarters both at Zorko and Beo as well as CHPS Compounds at Gamborogo and Sikabisi while others were ongoing in the District.

He said the Assembly had assisted nursing trainees to pursue courses in both Public Health and Clinical Nursing over the years, adding that 66 students had been assisted with 6, 600.00 Ghana cedis this year.

The District Director of Health Services, Miss Rufina Asuru advised the people especially pregnant women to patronize the facility.
