Bicycle rider killed knocked down

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Oct. 22, GNA - Kwabena Ameyaw, a 25 year-old resident of Dormaa-Ahenkro died on admission at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital on Tuesday after he was knocked down by a car.

The deceased was riding a bicycle when the incident occurred. Mr C.S.M. Brew (Jnr), Dormaa District Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency that the accident happened when a bus driven by one Opare Kwabena from the main lorry station towards the branch of the Wamfie Rural Bank area failed to observe the traffic at the intersection and hit the offside of a Car.

The Police Commander said the driver of the car lost control, knocked down the deceased and hit a streetlight causing considerable damage.

He said the deceased was rushed to the hospital but died later. The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy, while the Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
