Bethel Orphanage Home cries for assistance

Gomoa Achiase, (C/R), Aug 19, GNA-Authorities of the Bethel Children's Orphanage Home at Achiase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region has appealed to Non- Governmental Organizations, local and foreign donors to assist in the up-keep of the inmates.

Mr. Frank Sam, Father of the Home, who made this known at Achiase on Wednesday, said the 40 inmates at the place needed urgent assistance especially, residential accommodation, educational facility and means of transportation to facilitate the up-keep of the children.

He said currently, due to inadequate structures, 10 of the children are being kept temporally at Gomoa Dahom about four miles from the Home.

Mr. Sam said the management of the Home used the meager resources at their disposal on transportation to convey the children to school and back from the near-by town.

He said the home has established a school to discourage the children from traveling far away to attend school adding, that efforts are being made also to build a health centre at the home".

Mr. Sam said Bethel Orphanage home, the only one in the newly created Gomoa East District, is focused on the human development and quality life of Ghanaian children especially orphans in the Gomoa.

He called on the Gomoa East and West District Assemblies and other philanthropists in the Country to assist in helping to reshape the fortunes of the children, who have been abandoned or thrown out after just because their families did not want them.
